Trama:

Trama:
Luna e Amar, giovane coppia di innamorati, fanno del loro meglio per superare gli ostacoli inaspettati che minacciano la loro relazione. Luna perdona al marito le nottate passate a bere, ma Amar viene sospeso dal suo posto di lavoro. Rifiuta perentoriamente l’offerta di terapie psicologiche per curare la dipendenza dall’alcol. La coppia si trova di fronte ad una nuova sconfitta quando, dopo due anni di tentativi per avere un bambino, non ha altra scelta che procedere all’inseminazione artificiale. Amar trova lavoro come insegnante di informatica, grazie all’incontro con Bahrja, un vecchio amico dei tempi della leva militare, che nel frattempo è diventato un musulmano ortodosso, rigido seguace della dottrina wahhabita. Luna non è entusiasta della proposta, perché costringerà Amar a vivere lontano dalla città e poi non le piace la faccia di Bahrija e quella di sua moglie coperta con un velo nero. Tuttavia si rende conto che Amar non può permettersi di rifiutare un lavoro ben pagato, la condizione di disoccupato lo sta trascinando sempre più a fondo nella disperazione e nella frustrazione. Separata da Amar, senza neppure poterlo contattare, Luna ottiene finalmente il permesso di andarlo a trovare durante il lavoro nella reclusa comune wahhabita. Lì, Luna scopre un mondo misterioso, la comunità islamica fondamentalista è un mondo antico, senza alcol, sigarette o cellulari; una società in cui le vite quotidiane di uomini e donne sono separate e rigidamente sorvegliate.
Luna supplica Amar di tornare a casa, ma lui riesce a convincerla che questo luogo isolato, santuario di preghiera, gli ha restituito la pace e l’ha aiutato a smettere di bere. Quando, settimane dopo, Amar ritorna a casa, Luna nota un tragico cambiamento in suo marito e comincia a rendersi conto della distanza crescente tra loro quando lui le suggerisce di astenersi da rapporti sessuali e aspettare di avere figli finché non saranno sposati secondo la legge islamica. Angosciata, Luna cerca di capire il nuovo Amar e il suo credo, ma questo la rende ancora più confusa. La migliore amica di Leslie è Ann Perkins, conosciuta durante una pubblica assemblea durante la quale ha protestato contro la presenza di un'enorme buca nei pressi della sua casa, in cui è caduto e ha riportato la frattura delle gambe il fidanzato Andy Dwyer.
